The Department of Mathematics offers courses in several areas of pure and applied mathematics, statistics and math education. With 39 full-time faculty, you’ll get a better student-to-teacher ratio, smaller classes, and many opportunities to build relationships with professors and fellow students. The College of Arts and Sciences has a long tradition of mathematical study. Did you know the national mathematics honorary society, Pi Mu Epsilon (PME) was founded in 1914 at Syracuse University? Pi Mu Epsilon New York Alpha Chapter is open to all eligible students and hosts on-campus mathematical talks, career-focused discussion panels and other student activities. What can you do with math?
